Today Is Free Comic Book Day And You Need To Participate

This year’s selection might be the best yet.

This year

It’s here! It’s here! Today, May 2nd, is Free Comic Book Day! It’s that magical time that comes only once a year when comic fans everywhere cry tears of joy because they save an entire $3!

It’s the principle of it, I guess.

In case you couldn’t tell by its name, Free Comic Book Day is a day when participating specialty shops around the world give out free comics to anyone who asks. Customers can choose from 50 titles so at least one of your favorites is certain to be included. Beginning in 2002, the event was the brainchild of Joe Field of Flying Colors Comics.

In Joe, we trust.

Think about it… you can pair this offering with your 8th screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron and make this the greatest day of anyone’s life ever.

Drive on over to your favorite retailer and grab your freebie now before they run out!

Of course, factoring in the cost of gas for the average distance between a home and a comic shop means your free issue will cost about $4.25… but again, it’s the principle, right?
